RPC was known as Radio Products of Chicago. They were a small and very good factory that serviced the very best levels for Silvertone, Truetone and other catalog and retail chains in Chicago. Very few sets were made under their own label, but the quality is clearly apparent. This five-tube shouldered tombstone displays the company's quality. The radio has a stunning use of chevron Mahogany, with a center area out of Birdseye Maple. Add the hand beaded inlay and you have a very fine decorative statement. The dial is a very interesting feature, and be sure to look at both photos of it. The cabinet is in decent, not perfect shape with some minor issues on the left side. My tech has done a complete restoration and even added a fine silk cord and new plug. 15-1/2"H x 14-1/4"W x 9"D. |
