(wood tube table radio)

Air Castle 14-136EA (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Air Castle radios were the house brand of the famous Chicago catalog company, Spiegel's and May & Company. They were often deluxe radios of the era and reflected on the upscale clientele that the firms catered. This is a pristine model, with a huge six-inch dramatically lit dial. Add the keen green tuning eye, and the sheer appeal of owning this set is clear. The radio has an oval shaped cabinet lending a futuristic styling to the radio. The radio has the complete update with new filters and caps. The tuning eye is particularly bright, opens and closes as you fine-tune the set. The condition is factory finish and a very fine example. The radio plays great! 18"W x 10"H x 7-1/2"D.
