Those of you who regularly shop my pages on the Attic have heard me sing the praises of these all-American favorites. These sets represented the very best of the radio world circa 1938. This was the best of the high-powered three-band receivers of the Zenith line. The styling with the super 6-1/2" black dial and very reliable super-het chassis made them a true workhorse performer. This radio is the very best example of this set that I have ever offered for sale. It started its life as a model 6B-129 that has been upgraded with the additional tubes and output transformer. Now, you have a perfect and powerful receiver as good as or better than the factory original model. The finish is original and in terrific shape. The classic 8? black dial (one of Zenith?s largest) lights up beautifully. The radio retains the factory original speaker cloth and special embossed "Z" knobs. My technician, a life-long Zenith collector, has done a spectacular restoration. The work includes a total replacement of the filters and caps. The radio other components have been checked for the proper values and a new line cord and plug for your safe operation. 23"H x 17"W x 13-1/2"D. |
