Philco 90B Cathedral (1932)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Philco 90B Cathedral (1932)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is the famed and most sought after "Grand Cathedral," designed by Edward Combs, and considered one the most beautiful ever made. These were top of the line nine-tube super-hets, and were the finest and latest in technology. This particular example is one with automatic volume control incorporated into the circuit. In fact, of the three models in this series, this is the model to own. The use of the pair of #47 output tubes, and the advanced automatic volume control, makes this the best performing model. The set has seen a very complete and though restoration. The radio has had all of the old filters replaced along with all of the caps. The tubes check well within limits and the tuner has been aligned. The radio is so pristine; I have left the original power cord and plug, which are still very serviceable. Seldom will you find this quality of a very fine set. Impressive in size: 18-1/2"H x 17-1/4"W x 12"D.
