Hamilton-Lloyd "Junior" Cathedral (1931)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Hamilton-Lloyd "Junior" Cathedral (1931)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is one scarce radio! Hamilton-Lloyd Radio existed for just two years. They made only high-end sets, as I am sure the pictures will attest. The set is in terrific condition, original with the exception of a new power cord, plug, and knobs. This set is by size a "Grand Cathedral," at a stately 19-1/2"H x 15-1/2"W x 11"D. The radio is completely restored, and with the new filters and caps which should provide you years of great service. The radio is a "TRF," which is the earlier circuit designed sets. We often refer to them as two hand radios, as when you tune the set, the volume goes up dramatically. These TRF circuits predate both automatic volume control and super-het circuits, offering an interesting bridge from the battery radios that were the consumer's introduction to early radio. Regardless if you want to listen to this set every day, or simply enjoy the great design and condition, this radio would be a great addition to your collection.
