(wood tube tombstone radio)

Zenith 9-S-232 "Walton" Tombstone (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

You have many times seen in my Zenith ads, comments on their radios' popularity. These sets have a core of collectors unlike any other make. These sets are American icons, and represent all that was best of American manufacture. This radio is a perfect example of all the fine reputation these radios enjoy. This is a nine-tube version of the radio. It has the breakaway clamshell dial and all the original integral parts as it left the factory. The person that I bought the set from told me that it was all original, and I believe this to be so. These sets are super scarce and I have not seen very many in my 35+ years of collecting. My technician, a lifelong Zenith collector, has given the set everything it could possibly need. You can expect the very finest performance from this radio; nothing was left undone. I will gladly provide additional photos. The set is large and heavy, but represents one of if not the finest of all table radios ever made. Huge at 23"H x 18-1/2"W x 15"D.
