Philco 90A Cathedral (1931)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Philco 90A Cathedral (1931)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

You are looking at one of the most sought after grand American cathedral radios. This was the classic radio of the era. Grand because of the size and tone quality, a large case provides. This example is the extremely rare "A" model. A pair of 45's in the output, a very strong and desirable tube configuration, powers the radio. You might also note that these model A's have a toggle switch on the back for distance and local station selection. These sets were so prized because they delivered a living room sound and had terrific selectivity. Being a "grand" cathedral, this is a larger set. This special radio has had a complete restoration, and is performing better than new. The richness of the sound and the reception are even more wonderful with the extra strength of the output section. Seldom do these early and most desired models come available for sale, so know that your purchase is one of the finest collector radios money can buy. Weight is about 45 pounds. 18-1/2"H x 17-1/4"W x 12"D.
