Philco 70 Cathedral (1931)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Philco 70 Cathedral (1931)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is the most sought after classic "Grand Cathedrals" ever made. This is the one most often mentioned and pictured and for many good reasons. The set has classic lines and artisanship in a league of its own. Inside is a powerful seven-tube superhet radio. This was an early use of the technology and a great and stable player. These sets often were mentioned as having a large console radio sound in a tabletop radio. They were the best of the era! Very much like the famed Philco 90, this was a slightly smaller set with a lesser tube count. So if your space or budget will not allow the "big brother," this one is a super choice. An impressive and prestigious set; you can clearly see that in my photos. The radio has had the same complete restoration, that all of my sets receive. My 45 years of experience technician has done his usual spectacular job. The radio is complete, with a reproduction silk cord and Bakelite plug. This is a radio to buy and listen to! 18"H x 16-1/2"W x 12"D.
