Teletone 3 Cathedral (1931)

Teletone 3 Cathedral (1931)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!
This great set is a very scarce model. This is not the Tele-Tone Company of the forties from New York, but a rather small and obscure maker of radios in California. It is a little known fact, that in the thirties and forties, there were fifty or so makers of radios on the west coast. Because of the distances and the cost of freight, these factories made sets for stores west of the Rockies, and a few were national in distribution, such as Packard Bell. Most were local and remain underappreciated even today. This radio is an early receiver. It has six tubes, and the earlier "TRF" type of circuit. The radio plays well, with the stronger stations sounding best. Measuring 18"H x 12-1/2"W x 9"D, the radio is in the scale of the "grand cathedrals." Everything is original to the set, with the exception of the power cord and plug, which were replaced for safe operation. The radio had seen the complete electronic restoration needed for many years of trouble free use.
