You are looking at one of the true radio collecting prized sets. The radio was a classically styled combination of an electric clock and radio. These were a very functional and decorative addition to the finest homes of the era. The clock is a manual start, as it predates auto start electric clocks. Give it a spin, and off it goes, as it was completely overhauled by a master clock maker. It keep accurate time. The radio is a single band, five tube "TRF," and offers a solid performance. It too, has seen a complete and professional restoration and is good for another seventy years of use. Note the deep red mahogany case, with The seldom seen, Birdseye maple inset. All of the parts are original to the set. Even the gold painted finials are in place! 22-1/2"H x 13-1/2"W x 8"D; perfect for your mantle! |
