Atwater Kent 84 Cathedral (1931)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Atwater Kent 84 Cathedral (1931)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is a hard set to part with. Long thought to be the finest of the early thirties cathedrals, this is one of the very best! Atwater Kent was known for the finest radios from the twenties into the later part of the thirties. A renowned Philadelphia factory, fine cabinets with match high quality radios made them the Cadillac of the day. This was the very top of the line set, a superheterodyne, very advanced for the times. This set has an older refinish, very, very nice with only a few minor blemishes for its nearly 80 years. The radio retains the original knobs, speaker cloth, and power cord. The chassis is simply amazing; it has the bright shine and is the most perfect chassis I have ever seen on a set of this age. Yep, it sings with terrific sound and selectivity! These were fancy and expensive sets of the era, and have a great sound. This is a very large and impressive set. Part of the super sound is a "grand" cabinet. This "blue chip set" weighs 38 pounds. 20"H x 16"W x 9"D.
