| You are looking at a super scarce mantle radio. This company was one of many in the 1930s making radios in Chicago, but they were very high end and exclusive in the dealers they sold through. As the depression deepened, this company disappeared as nobody but the extremely rich could afford anything but the least expensive. The country was in great duress and people could not splurge on luxuries. Look at the rather unique shape this radio has -- an extremely narrow and compact mantle radio which has a distinct style and form. Longer than most mantle sets and so very narrow, gives this set the most of distinctive shapes. The original finish is in great shape, correct original knobs, speaker cloth and silk power cord. If you owned one of these, they were prized and care for. Plays great! Shipping weight 16 pounds. 15-1/2"W x 8-3/4"H x 5-1/2"D. |
