THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
I'm not aware of any other Woolaroc models. This post-War set was made by Philips Petroleum Co. of Bartlesville, OK. Founder Frank Philips also started the Woolaroc Museum and Wildlife Preserve not far from Bartlesville, and it exists to this day. This is an impressive, larger table AM radio set apart by its unusual angular case and exaggerated wrap-around louvers. The original red and white color scheme has been replicated with this nice repaint after minor repairs. The sound is very good and befitting of its over-sized presence. The very clean six-tube chassis has been restored with all caps replaced, a new power cord, tubes checked and replaced as required and a full alignment for peak performance was performed. It plays well across the dial. |
