THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Great example of mid-century design & color, this Zenith clock radio screams 1950's from almost any angle and has a two-piece "surround" plastic case. This is a hand-crafted factory job with mica caps. The uncommon clock knobs and dial are original with no damage, the two-toned light blue/aqua combo shell is in excellent condition, no cracks, chips or hairlines. The front & back pieces fit tightly together with just a little variance where the left and right sides meet (not uncommon with 50+ year old radios made this way). Also nice is the deeply embossed "Zenith" name on the back. There are no cracks in the plastic dial covers, with an undamaged metal Zenith emblem in between. The clock runs smoothly and radio gets good reception, very good volume and a very light hum only audible when the volume's turned down. The textured oval dial/clock faces are excellent. There are slats on the back and holes on the bottom done by Zenith for this model to create a special ventilation system. |
