THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Part of the RCA series of quirky and small wood table sets, circa 1939. Same basic case/chassis as the N.Y. Worlds Fair, S.F. Golden Gate Exhibition and La Siesta classics. Similar to the 40X55 "Wave Grille," but with this unique difference: A factory-cut design on both sides that I call the "Lone Star" model. I picked this up years ago and have never seen another. No one seems to know if this commemorated something. All original, including an unusual metal insert on bottom for ventilation. Dial glass, which often is badly scraped due to pointer placement on chassis, is perfect. Chassis clean & complete but just hums, knobs/pointer turn fine. Case has a few nicks and such but is sound with no separation. 9"W x 7"H (including handle). |
