| An uncommon few table set made by A.H. Grebe & Company with a five-tube chassis and original Magnavox speaker. All original and might have been refinished many years ago. It is not listed in any of the guide books I could find. Solid wood case (no veneer) is in great shape with a few slight wear marks, no damage to the grille cutouts. Volume, dial scales and knobs are complete and undamaged. The famous Grebe metal tag is below the lower knob (for tone?). Chassis is very clean and complete. It has the original wood back with a beautiful exact foil reproduction label featuring Doctor Mu, Oriental "sage of radio" who was an integral part of Grebe's advertising. The original foil label will be included for the winner. I powered it up and the tubes lit up as well as both dial lites but got no sound. |
