| One of the neater wood case/handle radios Philco made; instead of a plastic or wood bezel around the dial and speaker, this one divides them with vertical grille bars. Original black-painted highlights on the handle, speaker, dial and feet. Appears to have the original finish, someone put a light clear-coat on it, doesn't show in the pictures. Original damage-free knobs have a wonderful swirl to them. Grille cloth is firm and shiny, decal is original, dial face has a unique mottled look as it came from the factory, all the numbers are sharp. Dial pointer moves smoothly, dial plastic is firm & clear with just a 1/4" split at the bottom. Has most of the original bottom label with full & firm cardboard back. Could be original plug. Works but has garbled reception and a little hum, chassis is very clean, just a little dusty. |
