| This Bakelite Majestic with a 108 FM tuner was the entry level "work horse" for Grundig. This did not make them cheap, but affordable without the extra bells and whistles. The components such as speakers, tubes etc. were the same as their higher end models. This model has three speakers and three bands. Speakers are a large woofer and two side mounted electrostatic tweeters with deflectors to direct the sound to the side grilles. Bands are AM 510-1600, SW 19-49m and FM 88-108. Tone controls are Bass and Treble. It plays great on all bands with internal antennas. The Bakelite cabinet is very good with no cracks or chips. The gold trim has been re-painted to clean it up. Scale, back, knobs and pushbuttons are very good. All writing is in English. Tubes and caps have been replaced as needed including a new bright HM85 magic eye. 19-1/2"W x 13"H x 8"D. |
