This cool "heavyweight" receiver from the late 60s/early 70s appears to be MCS's top end model; loads of bells and whistles, including a dual five band rotary pot equalizer with five LED light/displays for each band. Heavyweight in more than one respect, at least half of its 40 pounds weight is the power transformer. The unit sounds great, super clear FM and a big ballsy sound on FM/AM and phono. Tuning meter, bar graph tuning indicator and stereo LED. The pair of VU meters read 150 watts into 8 ohms. There are filters at 60 hz and 8 khz, mute, loudness, tape 1 and 2, dolby, speaker systems, A/B/A+B. Whew! The face is nice and shiny; a very attractive piece. If you're a gearhead and want a great looking, great sounding stereo receiver, at a very reasonable price, here it is! Shipping weight about 50 pounds. |
