THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This seven-tube beauty from 1935 sports a perfect original speaker with excellent tone. Mostly tombstone, partly cathedral, this impressive radio was sold by Monkey Wards, whose sales personnel at the time allegedly zipped around on roller skates. It came with many unusual features, among which the tone and volume controls are tracked with separate dials within the big tuning dial itself. There are genuine marquetry inlays along the top, with matched and contrasting veneers off set by black toned top and front curtain showcasing the original grille cloth. The chassis has been serviced and aligned for optimum and reliable performance, while utilizing as many of the original components as possible. The four controls are On-Off/Volume, Tuning, Band Switch, Tone. |
