THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Offered here is the scarce early version of the first long distance eight-transistor Royal 500. This version features the black lettering on the plastic collars vs the more common white. Zenith changed to white shortly after introducing the D, citing better visibility. This model is also the first D to use transistors from RCA. The radio itself is in all original great condition, and it is still playing great, just as a D should. Note: These early version 500D's make a nice sub-set of Royal 500's. They came in this white color, and also in Ebony and Maroon. Also listed on my site is the Ebony version, so you can get 2/3 of the collection right here and right now! Then I will help you to find the Maroon one. |
