THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Offered here is an early Emerson transistor portable radio Model 868 from 1957. The Miracle Wand is actually a rotating antenna which allows the listener to change the orientation of the radio without moving the radio itself, often necessary to zero in to a different radio station. Emerson provided terminals for two large 9 volt (Eveready #276) batteries, but informed the listener on the interior label that the radio will work with just one battery instead of two. Click here for more information on this historic radio. This example is in nice cosmetic condition with normal wear. Inside, the chassis is clean and original, and surprisingly, it does indeed play very well with one battery. The CD marks are found on the station dial. 10"W a 10"H (including the antenna). |
