THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Here is another popular novelty radio produced by Panasonic in the early 70s. This one was called the Toot-a-Loop. This radio was designed to be wrapped around the wrist. It is shaped like a donut with the hole off center. If twisted, the two halfs of the radio pivot and from an "S" shape. One side of the radio has a grille for the speaker. There is also a jack for an earplug. The R72 has to be twisted into the "S" position in order to be tuned, but the volume control on the outer side can be adjusted regardless whether the radio is twisted, open, or closed. The Toot-a-Loop was offered in red, orange, yellow, blue, and white. This example is a nice red color and is in fine condition. It operates on a common 9 volt battery and plays loud and clear. |
