The Royal 50L is the third version of the Royal 50. It has a recessed tuning dial that allows you to put the set into your pocket without changing the station, an improvement over the first two versions. Another change is the back now snaps on and off without a screw. The 50L came in red, yellow, turquoise, or black with the black and gold models having a gold face and grille, while the red and turquoise ones have silver. Year introduced is 1962 and the cost new was $19.95. This radio is just a beautiful example in the attractive Turquoise color. All metal accents are sharp and damage free and the sound that this radio puts out will surprise you. Included is the unused original carrying case, earphone and battery box, all housed in the original gift box. Nice collectable set. Weight is only 7.9 ounces. 4-1/2"H x 2-1/2"W x 1-1/2"D.
