THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Here is a seldom seen little transistor radio from Japan that is one of the earliest small shirt pockets made. It measures only 3-1/2"H and has the date of September 1959 stamped inside on the clean label, but it has no model # indicated anywhere. The sharp styling is typical from early Japan radios and it is highlighted by a sparkle gold grille cloth that can be seen through the front slats. Yaou badge is present on lower right. This radio is black and white and plays just fine when 9 volts is applied to it. It was designed to take the hard to find round style battery though, so most of these just end up as display items, but it is good to know that it will still play (which is unusual). It is a great and historical collectable; one that you will enjoy having in your collection. |
