THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This Singer branded eight-transistor two-band "coat pocket" radio is certainly an uncommon find. The radio receives well and sounds good for an eight-transistor set of this size and era. Slightly more impressive is that the SW band is working as well, which is often not the case with these small, two-band radios. Shortwave reception will benefit greatly from full extension of the 22" mast antenna. Dual speaker grilles are an intriguing styling feature but they are "all show and no go;" this is a one-speaker radio. The set displays signs of normal use and minor wear but no major damage. There is some glue residue in the small space between speakers, which once held a Singer nameplate, some surface scratches on the dial lens, etc. etc. All things considered I think it's fair to label this radio in good to very good condition overall. 6-1/4"W x 3-3/4"H x 2"D. |
