I'm liquidating this for the widow of a friend who went silent-key last January. He was a meticulous fellow and a non-smoker. This SW-4A was a landmark product for Drake, incorporating a hybrid circuit design of both tubes and semiconductors. I have been operating this unit for over a month now with just a short wire antenna and its performance is truly impressive. It is stable, powerful and sensitive with excellent sound from the matching MS-4 speaker. A.M. reception was also very impressive, at night I pulled multiple stations from over 1000 miles away! Cosmetically and operationally these pieces are in excellent condition with no damage or significant blemishes. The beautiful copper-clad chassis is rust-free, just some light oxidation in spots. Comes with a comprehensive users manual covering all aspects of the radio's operation
