This 1938 6J230 could operate on AC or 6VDC. This option was perfect for rural areas not yet electrified. Then when AC became available the radio did not become obsolete. This is the best all original finish I've seen. The top has a minor spot of discoloration. The grille cloth is the correct Zenith replacement. The knobs and dial are original. Both the AC and DC sections have been completely restored. The DC hookup was left out but could be added for battery operation. The set plays well on AM and I also get some short wave reception. If you have been looking for a nice example of this set this is about as good as it gets. 17-1/2"H x 13-1/2"W x 9-1/2"D. $749.00. (0260755) |
