| The model 97 tombstone is very rare and the actual number made is unknown. The original integrity of this radio has been preserved as much as possible. The finish was cleaned and restored as needed. It still retains the original Philco decal. The grille cloth was stained and carefully cleaned to remove as much as possible. There is only a hint of discoloration remaining. The original dial, escutcheon and knobs are all in excellent condition with no damage. The pot metal shadow meter bracket was broken and has been repaired. The radio plays well on both AM and SW. The only issue is the shadow meter works in reverse of what is expected. It gets wider as you tune in a station instead of narrow. A super clean original example of this rare set ready for display. 19-1/2"H x 15-1/2"W x 10-1/2"D. |
