You never see small portable sets in this condition. There is no question the radio saw little or no use. It still retains a high gloss shine overall. I see no signs of batteries ever being installed in this set. I tested and it came on instantly with strong reception, but there is some hum in the audio. A rare opportunity to own a 1949 Tom Thumb that displays like new. 7-1/2"H x 4"W x 4"D.
