The Bunis books listed this radio incorrectly as a JB model 4; by the fifth edition the picture was changed. I did notice that the escutcheon and grille cloth were different on this one. I have had this set for 15 years. The grille cloth is an exact match for the original that was still in the set. The knobs are also original. The cabinet has been refinished. I believe it was made about 1932 or 33. With over 50 radio manufacturers in LA during this period it's hard to say who made this set. It has a number of elements that make me believe it was made by Jackson Bell. The chassis has been serviced and it plays well for a four tube radio. 12"H x 9"W x 6"D. |
