THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This extremely rare tombstone probably dates from about 1932. There is no evidence of a paper label anywhere. The ID tag has nothing more than a serial no. as shown. Airline radios are pretty well documented and this is the only example I'm aware of. The cabinet is typical of the era, but inside is a special dual speaker design. Airline made two other two speaker sets that I'm aware of. These models were larger designs. This is rather small in size measuring just 15"H x 13"W x 8"D. The grille cloth is repro and exactly like the original. The cabinet has been beautifully refinished and the radio is in excellent condition. the five-tube chassis has been serviced and the set plays well. |
