THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
The model 206 was one of the best cabinet designs of the early 30's. In addition this is one of the best examples you will find. It retains the original knobs, finish and near perfect grille cloth. The plastic dial cover is a reproduction. the short wave bands on this radio are not functional and for good reason. During WWII there were bands on short wave receiving for German, Italian and Japanese Americans in the U.S. You were required to bring the radio to a repair shop to have it removed. They did an extensive job on this one soldering every contact on the band switch to make it stationary in the AM position. The chassis has been serviced and it gets fantastic reception on AM. Even with just a foot of antenna wire. A great radio and an interesting piece of war history. 18"H x 13"W x 9"D. |
