Zenith 9-S-232 "Walton" Tombstone (1938)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

Zenith 9-S-232 "Walton" Tombstone (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Just an extremely clean example of this 1938 radio. They are a joy to look at and to listen to. Not to mention all the fun stuff like the shutter dial and motorized tuning. The cabinet was professionally refinished and displays beautifully. Otherwise it is all original including grille cloth and knobs. In addition the set has all original Zenith tubes. Six of the nine have the engraved base. The original 6T5 eye tube is included, but very weak. I have replaced it with a NOS 6U5. The cabinet, chassis and speaker have the correct matching numbers for this model. The chassis has been fully restored with every capacitor replaced. Both drive belts have been replaced along with period reproduction power cord. The speaker cone has been repaired, but it does not affect sound quality. Everything works as it should and the set plays great. 23"H x 17"W x 12"D.
