| Simplex made several mini cathedrals, but this five-tube model is one of the rare ones. An unusual feature is the superheterodyne chassis. The schematic label is still intact on the base and in good condition. It still retains three of the original simplex globe tubes. The cabinet has been beautifully refinished, but otherwise it is all original including the knobs and grille cloth. Despite extensive chassis restoration, the radio is a poor performer. I can only get one or two stations and not well. It still serves its most important purpose as a fantastic display piece. 12-1/4"H x 9"W x 6-1/2"D. |
