Philco 16B (1934)
(wood tube cathedral radio w/SW)

Philco 16B (1934)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

BC+4SW. This is the top of the line Philco cathedral and probably the best Short Wave receiver of its time. Originally selling for $85, this set Features the early eleven-tube five-band chassis with dual-speed tuning, shadowgraph, tone selector and switchable muting that delivers 10W audio output. The chassis has been completely restored and operates like new. The cabinet is the biggest "Baby Grande" (which is what Philco calls their cathedrals) ever made and has been properly restored using the correct toners and proper brand new reproduction grille cloth. This particular set was a forlorn survivor I found at the Kutztown PA radio meet. It had been painted at one time and the previous owner had stripped the paint off but lost interest after that exhaustive task. It was begging me to purchase it and finish the process of making it whole again like the several I've done before it. It's now ready for its permanent home. Fully restored and warranted 19-1/2"H x 16-1/2"W x 13"D.
