THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
BC + 2SW. This is one of the classic gold dial Silvertones that are a hot performer and much sought after, but this one has quite a story to go with it. During WW2 a lot of old radios were donated to the war effort for use as training tools or for parts; they were then discarded after being stripped of all their useful parts. This set is one of those, that was lucky enough to be spared from the trash. The original chassis was stripped of most of its topside parts and some underneath, but the dial remained. The chassis in the set now is from a 4564 model but is the same exact chassis 101407 that the original was, only the 25 cycle version which meant it was sold in Ontario Canada where 25 Hz systems were still used until the 1950s. Fully restored and brought back to life once again! Original chassis remains available upon request. 16-1/2"H x 13"W x 9"D. |
