BC+3SW. I did a total restoration on this set in the late 90's and its been in my personal collection ever since. It's the biggest black dial Zenith ever made and the next step down from the Stratosphere in the Zenith lineup. The massive chassis, used only in the 158 and 159, tunes Broadcast to 54Mhz in four bands and has a room shaking 17 watts output from a 12" baffled speaker driven by a 6L6 push-pull output stage and a 6L6 driver. The set also features a tone fidelity switch and a sensitivity control.
The cabinet is simply stunning with its top of the line burled walnut veneer, inlays, and original wooden knobs. It's quite rare that I let one go out of my personal collection, but I need the room, 43-1/2"H x 27"W x 14"D. Originally a whopping $149.95 in the Summer of 1936, I'm asking |
