Zenith Royal 1000 Trans-Oceanic (1957)
(plastic transistor portable radio w/FM/SW)

Zenith Royal 1000 Trans-Oceanic (1957)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This should be in a museum. It was covered by a plastic cover which preserved its like new appearance (see pictures). It is the first year the 1000 was built. You can tell by the plastic battery box and the Genuine Leather on the front inside cover. But this is more. It is one of the first ones built in 1957. It has the 600 series prongs on the battery box for the red external Wavemagnet antenna on the back. The lights' wires are taped to the light holder rather than a steel prong. The back does not have 1000 on it. Two of the trimmers are in a different place than the later 1000's. It has the Black RCA transistors. The speaker had the code 342750 (50th week of 1957). The handle/antenna has a press to release mechanism as well. The external Wavemagnet did not come with the radio so I found one from another radio. Otherwise it is all original. Very little alignment was needed. The radio is not just serviced which replaces some electrolytic capacitors. It is restored with all new electrolytic capacitors which will allow the radio to play another 40 years like new. 1 year warranty. The radio will be shipped to you by USPS Priority which only takes 2-3 days.
