THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This completes the early series S-38, S-38A and now S38B. There is one more that looks like all three and that is the S-38C. It is very rare to find all three in this condition. If you are interested in all three let me know. This was a nice entry level shortwave set built between 1947 to 1953. The receiver is a four band superheterdyne tuning .54 to 32 megacycles very similar to the S-38A. This radio plays best with a 50 to 75 ft outdoor antenna (wire). It has all the original knobs, speaker and back with a repro bottom. The chassis is like new. As you can see I restored it with all new capacitors and aligned it to play like new. Also all the tubes tested good. |
