THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This was a nice entry level shortwave set built in 1946 and is getting rarer to find. The receiver is a four band superheterodyne tuning .54 to 32 megacycles. It is the first one in the S-38 series and the only one that has six tubes rather than the five that came with the later models. It also has a BFO dial which does not come on the later models. It has been electronically restored with all new capacitors and good resistors. The cabinet has no dings but the paint is discolored and missing in a few places. It is old and looks it. It plays well on all bands with an external antenna. This radio plays best with a 50 to 75 ft outdoor antenna (wire). It has all the original knobs, speaker and bottom. The bottom is in good shape. The back is not so good so I have ordered an exact reproduction. |
