(wood tube tombstone radio)

Zenith 7-S-28 Tombstone (1936)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This rare AM/Shortwave radio is more of an item for a radio collector. It is not a everyday player; rather, a radio you play every now and then. Having said that, it plays loud and clear on all three bands and has been for ten years. The cabinet, chassis and faceplate are original to the set. The speaker, grille cloth and knobs are either a replacement or exact reproduction of the original item. The cabinet is just about as big as a "Walton" and has been restored to its original lacquer look. The speaker is a 8" speaker from that period of time. The radio has been electronically restored with all new capacitors, good tubes and resistors. It has been aligned according to specifications in the Zenith repair manual and it plays just fabulous. A rare radio for a good price. Email for more detail and pictures.
