Hallicrafters S-38 Receiver (1946)
(communications gear)

Hallicrafters S-38 Receiver (1946)

This was a nice entry level shortwave set in 1946 and is getting rarer to find. The receiver is a four band superheterdyne tuning .54 to 32 megacycles. It is the first one in the S-38 series and the only one that has six tubes rather than the five that came with the later models. It has been electronically restored and plays well on all bands with an external antenna. It has all the original knobs and back. Internal speaker and bottom are replacements.
