Meissner 9-1085 (1946)
(metal tube table radio w/SW)

Meissner 9-1085 (1946)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This Meissner 9-1085 is a two-band AM radio with Short Wave. It has been totally restored and the heavy steel cabinet has been repainted to its original look. This radio is a very strong receiver; it brings in many distant stations other radios aren't able to bring in. It incorporates what's called the "All American Five" tube set; a sixth tube is added for an untuned RF amp stage to improve its sensitivity, and an IF wave trap. It also has a power supply choke, that's seldom seen in most AC/DC sets. These radios were what's called "Morale" radios and were built both during and after WWII and were intended for troop entertainment. All steel case. 13-1/2"W x 7"H x 7-1/4"D.
