THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This sweet little set has been electronically restored and is working very well, and the case has been professionally refinished; it looks and sounds great. I found a little background about The Breting Co. who built radios, mostly high end multi-tube Ham sets from the mid 30's until about 1940 like the Breting 12. Because they never had a licensing arrangement with RCA the sets were assembled by the Gilfillan Bro's. Co. plant in Los Angeles so, as a result of that we find Gilfillan's model 42A whose case, while different, the chassis is pretty much the same as Breting. As a result this Breting model is sort of a rare find. 10"W x 8"H x 5-1/2"D. |
