About Fred
Dixon's Radio Attic |
About me: Back in the early 1950's I received a Christmas
gift of a brand new S38D Hallicrafters receiver. From this start I went
on to have a career in the repair and service of black and white TV's
and radios. In the 1960's I went on to other unrelated careers but
still retained my passion for radios. Some ten years ago while at
a vintage automotive flea market, I purchased a very nice Canadian made
white Arvin radio model 254T in need of restoration. That became #1, and
now at # 825 and still growing. The radios that I collect are mainly crack- and chip-free and have the original finish. I enjoy doing the electrical restoration and bring these old goldies back to life. Since starting back in the hobby, I have not had any come backs due to my workmanship; many of the people I have sold to, come back and buy other radios to add to their collections. Restorations: All radios listed are serviced unless otherwise stated, this includes lubricating and cleaning all controls. I correct old repairs, replace all defective and out of tolerance resistors and capacitors, also check and replace all defective tubes; chassis and cabinets cleaned inside and out, bench run for at least four hours. Payments: Payment in USA funds, using PayPal to my email address, or by money order. Shipping: At the time of shipping, the radio will again be test run. Using the most utmost care, the radios will be shipped in an oversize cardboard box, wrapped in large bubble wrap. I have shipped this way many times without problems. Once full payment has cleared, the radio will be shipped within two business days. At time of shipping the buyer will be notified, including tracking information. I ship to Canada and the USA using Canada post insured. Shipping charges and insurance are in addition to the purchase price. Once I receive an email from the buyer confirming the purchase and shipping price. Seven days will be allowed for payment to clear, after seven days and not having receiving cleared payment, the sale will be cancelled. At that time the radio will again will be available for sale. Returns: If the buyer for whatever reason wants to return the radio, the buyer must first contact me. If all attempts to resolve the issue cannot be made, the buyer, at their expense, may return the radio as long as it is in the same condition as received. It is my goal to make you the customer, happy with your purchase. Thank you for visiting Fred's Attic. |
