The FADA Catalin "Temple" is a true classically designed radio. The FADA name originated from Frank Angelo D'Andrea, who founded the company in 1921. With its sleek rounded case design, it's obvious how it received its "Temple" nickname. FADA produced many radios over the years, but is best known for its Catalin models right before and right after WWII. This set is in as mint condition as I have ever seen. The beautiful deep maroon case and butterscotch trim and original knobs are in great condition, with no cracks, chips, hairline cracks or tube burns. Everything is original. The dials are often cracked on these models due to the Catalin shrinking over the years. This one is perfect. It's truly an icon of industrial machine age design. The radio has been checked completely by a professional, and is playing very well, clearly picking up all my local AM stations. But I would not recommend playing the radio over extended periods of time, as most people don't acquire these Catalin sets to listen to them! It has its original back and label on the bottom.
