Balkeit X70 "Around the World" Tombstone (1934)

Balkeit X70 "Around the World" Tombstone (1934)
Balkeit was the brand name for RPC of Chicago, who made radios for a large number of catalogue companies. This is one of the most interesting models, called "Around the World" for the various time zones in different countries. Shortwave was the internet 80 years ago, offering the latest news. The cabinet is very fancy with various veneers, with the central part of the grille made of Birdseye maple. They banded this area with hand laid inlay beading, making a very fancy radio. The radio is a five-tube super-het chassis which offers both AM and Shortwave. There are additional controls which are very interesting. There is a fine tuning feature along with a tone control making for a deluxe level of service. The cabinet is original finish with replacement speaker cloth and the factory installed wood knobs. Les has completed his professional repairs and returned the radio to a fine level of service. He also added a mini-jack for your ability to add your modern device for your choice of content. Bluetooth is available for an additional $25! 15"H x 14"W x 9"D.  $749.00. (0961410)
All of our radios have preinstalled mini-jacks at no additional charge.  These are installed with no damage to the integrity of the radio or cabinet damage.  These will allow you to input to your old radio from any modern device.  These include phones, pad and computers.  I enjoy listening through my broadband connection.  My favorites are: pandora.com, iheart.com, and internet-radio.com.  The content is prerecorded, live FM, and shortwave and free.

NOW!  Bluetooth adaptors available with a simple add on.  The cost is $25.  Stream audio to your radio from any Bluetooth enabled device.  The range of these units is 25-30 feet.
