The 1947 Facto Meter was a sales tool used by radio shops to determine signal strengths at a customer's home or for any other purpose requiring an AM/FM test radio. This one is missing the handle, but otherwise extremely clean inside and out. There was a modification done at some point and I covered the hole with a brass plug to the left of the meter range switch. The meter is functional, but does not go to zero. There is a hairline crack along the bottom edge of the dial cover below 92. Of course what is truly special about this one is the original fabric cover. It is completely intact, but has some holes and stains. The fact that it's there at all is amazing. The radio has been serviced and works great on both AM and FM. These don't show up often and never with the cover. |
