About our Radios

The sale of these radios will benefit the California Historical Radio Society.  Over the coming months, the CHRS will be listing hundreds of collectible radios, most of which were bequeathed to us from the personal collection of one of our members.  Almost all of these sets have been professionally restored, both cosmetically and electronically.  All of them, unless identified otherwise, have have been tested to determine that (1) local stations can be received clearly, without undue hum or static, and (2) that all controls are in proper working order.  However, due the age of these sets, CHRS cannot guarantee that each set will be functioning electronically when it reaches you no matter how well packed.  If one should arrive in less than working order, please contact us.  The sets are being packed very carefully by collectors like yourself.  All plastic radios will be safely double-boxed, as will wooden ones as required.

If you’re interested in one of our radios, please send us your zip code so we can calculate shipping costs.  Also please let us know if you’re paying via PayPal or using a check or money order.  PayPal payments are easier for us and the radios generally ship faster.  With checks, we must wait for the check to clear our account before we ship.

CHRS is a non-profit corporation chartered in the State of California.  CHRS was founded in 1974 to promote the restoration and preservation of early radio and broadcasting.  We are in Berkeley, CA in the historic KRE building.  Please visit us at our web site.
